Women Of Faith 2011!

The theme of the tour is Imagine with the verse being Ephesians 3:20, "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us..." Before each leader came up to speak one of the questions they were asked is, "What is the best thing you can imagine?" For me the imagine tour was a time for me to remember how good God is, to remember what God has done for me and how He cares for me personally, specifically and deeply.

Psalm 91:4
He will cover you with his feathers.
He will shelter you with his wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

This verse really hit me hard as I realized that His faithfulness is not dependent on my faithlessness. His promises are my protection.

It seemed as if God specially designed the songs that were sung just for me! So many have special meaning to me and I felt enveloped in God's arms as each one played out and I remembered how much God loves me!

During a break I looked back at a blog I wrote in September 2010. One of the verses I meditated on was Isaiah 43:18-19... "Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past..." which reminded me of the great thing God had done for me in providing a new job in January. These verses had come up in December and January as I moved to this new job but I had forgotten that God prepared me for this in September... long before I had the thought of a new job! Again, God was saying, "Kim, remember, I have never left you!"

I need to remember to give my soul time to catch up to my body!

Another theme that really hit me was that God can take the shattered pieces of my life and turn them into beauty. Which of course reminded me of a song... and this verse...

Isaiah 61:2-4

² to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
³ and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the LORD
for the display of his splendor.

⁴ They will rebuild the ancient ruins
and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations.

So I left with 5 books and a DVD and I have read 2 books already. Stumbling into Grace by Lisa Harper and Heaven is for real... both really great reads.

I have started on a 3rd book by Sheila Walsh entitled, The Shelter of God's Promises. Page 9 had the following verses that resonated within my heart as God speaking to me...
2 Corinthians 1:20-22
²⁰ For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. ²¹ Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, ²² set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

So the plan is to go to Women of Faith next year and get as many girlfriends to come with me as possible!

Getting ready to be inspired and recharged at the Women of Faith Event in Atlanta on August 12th and 13th!!! I went to Revolve in January which is for teens, but I have never been to Women of Faith. I am looking forward to it!

Isaiah 43:18-19

For a friend who lost her mother

I did not leave you when your mother came to me.
She is with me and I am with you.
My Power is still yours.
I am in the void, I am in the hole that you feel in your heart. I am your treasure and you are mine. I LOVE YOU!
The miracles have not stopped.
I am working in your life RIGHT NOW.
Come to Me.
Rest in Me.
I am taking you to the Promised Land and your mother is right beside me cheering you on.
She wants you to LIVE.
Her heart lives on in you.
LIVE.
Embrace Life and remember I am WITH YOU!
Remember the power I showed you during your mother's illness?
I am still here.
I never left nor will I ever leave you.
You are My sweet treasure and I am holding you and loving you through this.
My Power awaits you - just keep calling, crying and seeking me.

Listen to the still small voice inside you.

She knows you miss her and she wants you to love Me and love others the way only you can love and in so doing bring glory to me.

Book Review: The Hole in Our Gospel by Richard Stearns

This book is about remembering what God expects of those who confess Him as Lord. Do I just profess Him as Lord and then in my life have other gods that function as my lord? Can I say I follow Jesus with my lips, when my actions say something entirely different and still consider myself a follower of Christ? What does God expect? Am I willing to be open to God’s will for my life? These are questions the author answers for himself and in the process asks you to look at your own life and answer these questions in your own life.

I found the book challenging and inspiring. I enjoyed reading about his calling, and how he still struggles with not allowing his heart to become hard. It is always inspiring to read about how another believer calls on God to remove his heart of stone and replace it with a heart of flesh. It is about God changing you from the inside out and I think the author is clear about this. It is nothing we do, it is all God’s doing. But he also makes it clear that we have to “start our engines.” I found my eyes opened to the suffering of poverty, hunger, disease, lack of drinking water and orphaned children. I felt a heavenly reminder that when someone is gifted and blessed by God in many ways, there comes great responsibility to use those gifts for His glory. Jesus calls all of his followers to use their time, talent and treasure to further His Kingdom here on earth. The author also makes it clear that only you can seek and find God’s will for your life, that your calling may not come as his did. Are you willing to take that first step to find out? I encourage every one “comfortable” or even uncomfortable in their faith to read this and let God “break your heart for what breaks His.”
